What would be your ideal compilation album? Should it have pictures, a track-by-track commentary with Ashcroft, track information (for example, when it was written and for which album)? Should it be a double album to include all b-sides and unreleased material? Should it be packaged with a live performance? Vote for your top 10 choices above and discuss what you would like to see.

Throw them all on in there!  Unreleased, and released tracks. Why hold back?  Commentary would be nice too.

I'd really prefer a new Verve b-side album.  They've amased quite a few since 'No Come Down'.

Best case scenario we'll get ALL the b-sides (minus remixes) and two new songs with an extra DVD of live stuff/interview about the songs. I hope the insert has the track information including when the song was written, etc and photos of the man himself. If Richard decides to choose certain tracks only, then I hope there's a bit of commentary as to why he thought those songs were the ones. I for one demand that LEAVE ME HIGH be included. It should have been on the album.

I REALLY THINK HE SHOULD RELEASE "OH SISTER" (not to be confused with So, Sister")... but the song from the Urban Hymns demos c. 1996.

Staying in bed who gives a f*** about the weather... y'know, that one???

It's one of the best tune's he's ever written and he's forgotten about it.

All of these suggestions are great. Ashcroft should treat this B-sides collection with as much attention to detail as he would an album. For the note, I felt The Verve's singles collection was rushed. It didn't have any information on the band, the individual tracks, and how they charted. Overall, it felt rather bland and it bugged me how the tracks were out of order

This release has the potential to be a BEST SELLER. The man has some very great B-sides, some of which are better than the tracks that made the albums. I very much hope that "Leave Me High" makes the selection (I think it stands a high chance since it can be previewed on Ashcroft's new/improved website). I love that song. Please, no remixes on this release.

- some new songs
- track information which could include short notes by Ashcroft about the songs
- bonus disc with a live performance would be a nice touch

Am I alone in saying PLEASE let this be a contract-filler so The Verve can tour proper?Huh You think it just may be? Maybe it was something he needed to think about... maybe he sat down "are these new songs I'm writing Verve songs or solo songs...".. Maybe he decided most of his new material was heading back in a Verve demension and so he was like "I'll do a b-sides album and get back on tour and writing with Verve when I feel like it and if I come up with enough material to do a solo album I'll do one".

What do you think?

I hope you're right.  Granted he has some great solo stuff that I couldn't picture The Verve doing, it never seemed to be headed in any direction whereas the Verve changed with each album which always made it exciting.   I would hate to think he would sacrifice a potentially great Verve song to put it on a solo album since the band takes his songs to a level he hasn't been able to duplicated on his own.  Whenever I hear Richards old solo songs I'm left wondering what could've been.  I hope with the band reunited I won't have to do that any more in the future.
